In earlier versions of the Old Testament

God was written “YHWH”

Even though people pronounce YHWH as “Yah-Way”,

YHWH is said to be unpronounceable.

(Modern versions replace YHWH with Lord)

If communication is a goal

Why use an unpronounceable word?

I don’t understand

YHWH

Then I heard the story of

Abram and Sara,

The parents of God’s people

The ancestor of Jesus.

After God spoke to them

he changed their names to

Abraham and Sarah

And I learned that the “H” means

“breath of God”

Does YHWH take on a shade of new meaning as

Y(breath of God) W(breath of God)?

Is God as close as breathing?

Yah (inhale)

Way (exhale)

Yah (inhale)

Way (exhale)

And when we add a voice for praise

Ha-le-lu          yah

(exhale)          (inhale)

Ha-le-lu          yah

(exhale)          (inhale)

The song continues forever.
